The Queensland Government lists a “South Stradbroke Island Marine Waste and Litter Clean up” project awarded to the Jacobs Well Environmental Education Centre Advisory Council Inc.
The published project description says it aims to coordinate four one-day cleanups, use count-and-sort methods and upload data to the Australian Marine Debris Initiative database. The government page does not currently publish volunteer dates or a registration link.

Clean carefully, legally and usefully.
Arrange the whole journey
Confirm safe water transport, tides, weather, communications, first aid, drinking water and the return of volunteers and collected waste.
Protect habitat
Keep out of sensitive vegetation, dunes and wildlife areas. Do not disturb animals or remove natural material while collecting human-made debris.
Plan hazardous waste
Brief volunteers not to handle needles, chemicals, gas cylinders, unstable containers or unidentified dangerous material without trained support.
Count and sort
Recording debris types can reveal sources and support prevention. Tangaroa Blue’s AMDI database accepts structured cleanup data.
Publish verified results
Report the date, participating organisation, audited totals and destination of collected material. Avoid inflated impact claims.
