Factual, transparent and careful by design.
These launch standards explain what SouthStradbroke.co is, what it does not do, how advertising will be labelled, and how factual corrections and personal information are handled.
Launch policy · last updated 31 July 2026
Independent publisher status
SouthStradbroke.co is designed as an independent information publisher and flat-fee advertising platform. It is not a government agency, body corporate, resort operator, owners’ corporation, real-estate agency, letting agency, travel agency, law practice, financial advisory service or emergency service.
Information is general only. Readers must verify important information with the original source and obtain appropriately qualified advice for legal, property, tax, financial, safety and body-corporate decisions.
Factual and non-misleading editorial standard
Material statements must be accurate, supported by reasonable grounds and not create a misleading overall impression. A disclaimer will never be used to excuse an inaccurate headline, omission or description.
- Primary legislation, judgments, official registers and government publications are preferred.
- Every time-sensitive event, business or service entry must show a source and last-checked date.
- Rumour, anonymous accusation and unverified owner submissions are not published as fact.
- Allegations, reported claims and court findings are described separately and with precise attribution.
- Serious criticism requires documented verification, relevant context and a reasonable opportunity to respond before publication.
- Material generated or assisted by automation must be checked by a human editor before publication.
This standard reflects the ACCC requirement that business claims be truthful, accurate and based on reasonable grounds, and the Queensland defamation law’s focus on verification and distinguishing allegations from proven facts.
Advertising and sponsorship
Paid material will be prominently labelled “Advertisement” or “Sponsored”. Advertising payment will not purchase a favourable review, alter an editorial conclusion or suppress genuine criticism.
The launch rate card uses fixed publication fees. SouthStradbroke.co will not receive a percentage of a property sale, rent, booking, legal recovery or other regulated transaction. Advertisers remain responsible for substantiating their claims, prices, licence details and availability. A private Stripe payment link may be issued only after the Advertising Services Agreement is signed.
Read the rate card and advertising eligibility policy. Read the client Advertising Services Agreement.
Property-services boundary
Queensland requires a licence for specified real-estate agency activities performed for others for reward. To remain on the publishing side of that boundary, SouthStradbroke.co will not:
- act for a buyer, seller, landlord or tenant;
- negotiate, arrange inspections, make representations on a party’s behalf or handle offers;
- collect rent, deposits, trust money or transaction documents;
- value or recommend a property as suitable or as an investment;
- accept transaction-based commissions or sell individual-property advertising on an owner’s behalf.
The property page provides general due-diligence prompts and links to independent sources. Any future property-related brand advertising will be limited to clearly labelled, flat-fee advertisements from appropriately licensed agencies, subject to professional confirmation of this model.
Reviews and directory treatment
No consumer reviews or star ratings are currently published. Before reviews launch, the platform will require genuine first-hand experience, disclose commercial relationships and incentives, publish both positive and negative genuine reviews under one policy, and provide reporting and correction processes.
Fake reviews, undisclosed paid reviews, review gating, selective suppression and advertiser-controlled ratings will not be permitted. Directory inclusion is not an endorsement.
Privacy notice
The blog collects an email address only when a person voluntarily requests the Island Record email and actively ticks the consent box. The address, consent wording, source page and consent date are recorded so the request can be verified. Addresses are used for SouthStradbroke.co research, island updates and occasional clearly labelled advertising; they are not sold or added from scraped or purchased lists.
New requests remain pending until double opt-in email confirmation is operational. No marketing campaign will be sent without a functioning unsubscribe process. A subscriber may withdraw by using the unsubscribe link in a message or emailing ops@southstradbroke.co. Suppression records may be retained so an unsubscribed address is not accidentally re-added.
Hosting, authentication, database and email providers may process relevant technical and account information under their own terms. Do not email confidential records or unnecessary personal information.
Privacy Act coverage and this notice will be reassessed as turnover and activities change, particularly if the business begins trading in personal information or operating a residential tenancy database. Privacy enquiries, access or correction requests can be sent to ops@southstradbroke.co.
Commercial email and SMS
No marketing email or SMS program is active. Before launch, recipients must provide valid consent; the sender must be correctly identified with current contact information; evidence of consent must be retained; and every commercial message must provide a working, no-cost unsubscribe process that is honoured within five working days. Purchased or harvested contact lists will not be used.
Copyright and source use
Links and short factual summaries do not transfer ownership of third-party content. The platform will not republish complete property advertisements, news articles, photographs, legal submissions or private documents without permission or another lawful basis. Source attribution does not by itself create permission to copy.
Corrections, complaints and right of reply
Send a factual correction, advertising complaint, privacy concern or right-of-reply request to ops@southstradbroke.co. Include the page, disputed statement, supporting source and requested correction. Credible urgent issues should be temporarily restricted while checked. Material corrections should be dated and explained rather than silently rewritten.
These standards are reviewed whenever the platform adds payments, user reviews, uploads, marketing, property advertising or another materially different service.
